1985-1987 ECL Australia Pty Ltd

Senior Consultant Micropalaeontologist, working on routine micropalaeontology (foraminifera and calcareous nannoplankton) of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sections. Projects undertaken were similar to those worked on while with Esso but on material from throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Malaysia for a large number of clients.

1982-1985 Esso Australia Pty Ltd

Senior Petroleum Geologist rising to Professional Geologist, working on routine micropalaeontology (foraminifera and calcareous nannoplankton) of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sections. Projects and studies included erection of a Mesozoic calcareous microfossil zonal scheme for Australian marine environments; palaeobathymetry estimates based on benthonic foraminiferal assemblages; core analysis, recognition of clastic facies based on wire-line log character, stacking arrangement of clastic facies, recognition of depositional sequences; regional stratigraphic studies, formulation of stratigraphic units for basin-wide correlation, seismic mapping and palaeofacies reconstruction; geohistory analysis using palaeo-age dating to determine deposition rates, subsidence rates etc. to predict palaeobathymetry in conjunction with micropalaeontological environmental data.
